****** Journey of Faith Are you interested in becoming a Catholic, if so this course is for you or if you simply wish to know more about your faith? ‘Journey of Faith’ Thursday at 7.30pm Each session lasts about one and quarter hours. This programme is especially suited for those who want to become Catholics or for those who want to deepen their faith. If you are interested would you kindly contact one of the priests giving your name and contact number. ****** Parish News & Events Mothers Day - 10am Mass today is a school Mass. Children of St Mary’s School will perform the ministries. Evening Prayer and Benediction next Sunday at 3pm. Stations of the Cross next Saturday at 11.45am. Penitential Service with confessions (Reconciliation) on Monday of Holy Week 29th March at 7pm. There will be a number of priests available to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation Holy Week volunteers are needed for the various ministries which will be taking place during Holy Week and Easter. There is a form at the back of church for all those who wish to volunteer.. Thank you. Offertory Procession it was proposed and passed at the PAC that more people should be involved in the offertory procession. If you or members of your family would like to take part in this at one of the Sunday masses please fill in the offertory procession list at the back of the church. Thank you. Prayer Board - the prayers on the prayer board will be taken up at the Offertory Procession during 10am Mass at the end of March and then quarterly. Saturday 20th March - Day of Recollection for those involved in the Ministries. This will be an opportunity to reflect on what is involved in the various Ministries and what we can bring to them. Ministers of the Word, the Eucharist, Music, Collectors, Catechists and those involved in the RCIA are invited to attend. Of course any parishioners interested will be most welcome. The day will be lead by Father John Meredith who is the Chair of the Archdiocesan Liturgy Commission and will take place in the Parish Hall from 10am to 1pm. Social St Mary’s - The Parish Advisory Council discussed the possibility of more social events. Ideas such as ‘a walk in the park’ to a ‘dinner followed by Old Time dancing’ were discussed. Suggestions please to a PAC member or one of the priests. There is plenty of scope, all suggestion will be considered. Going into Hospital? It can be a worrying time, going into hospital. If you are a Catholic you will need all the support you can get from your Church. Due to Data Protection hospitals can’t give out the religion of patients. Priests will only know who is in hospital if they are told. Please tell the priest if you are going into hospital or someone you know is in hospital and would like a visit CAFOD ‘ GIVE IT UP’ FOR LENT News from St Mary’s School The Big Breakfast is back!! Thursday 18th & 25th March at 8.15am in the school hall. Thursday 1st April Fun Afternoon! Admission to St Mary’s Primary School the Governing Body will shortly be considering applications for those parents who are seeking admission to the Reception class for their children this coming September. Most of us do. “Landings” is a parish programme for reaching out and welcoming them back into the Church. If you would like to know more about having “Landings” in your parish, come to an information evening at St Brigid’s Church, Crystal Glen, Llanishen on Thursday 25th March. A special memorial will be unveiled in a ceremony in St David’s Cathedral on this date. The organisers wish to contact those connected with the tragedy.
